Due to fascial connections throughout the body, some muscles in seemingly opposite locations actually influence each other. For instance, your right latissimus dorsi (called "lat" for short) has a connection to your left gluteus maximus. This deep diagonal connection, when strengthened, is a big contributor to core strength. In our Pilates Reformer Classes, we design our workouts with this in mind.
