When you don’t get enough sleep, it negatively impacts your brain’s ability to make decisions, like what you’re going to eat. In a recent study, when people slept for only 4 hours per night, they ate 500 more calories the next day than when they slept for 8 hours. In a different Swedish study involving active MRI’s, observations of brain activity indicated a higher response to photos of food in those who were sleep deprived. A great way to guarantee a good night’s sleep is with a healthy workout several times per week. At Mission Valley Pilates & Fitness, our TRX and Pilates Reformer classes can help! Come try a healthy challenging workout at your own fitness level, and feel the positive results of a better night’s sleep!
